What's it about?

GriefShare is a weekly grief recovery seminar and support group for people grieving the death of someone.  It’s a place where you can be around people who understand how you feel and the pain of your loss.  At GriefShare, people learn valuable information that will help them through this difficult time in their lives.  It features nationally recognized experts on grief and recovery topics.  Seminar sessions include “The Journey of Grief”, “The Effects of Grief”, “When Your Spouse Dies”, “Your Family and Grief”, “Why?”, “and “Stuck in Grief”.

How it all began

The GriefShare program began at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in August of 2020.  GriefShare is a weekly meeting where those who have experienced the loss of a loved one are encouraged through the support of others as, together, we follow the GriefShare materials and learn to cope with our loss through Jesus Christ.  The sessions usually last 90 minutes which consists of video interviews with top Christian experts on grief and recovery topics as seen from a biblical perspective and personal testimonies of people who have experienced their own losses, this is followed by some discussion time.  A workbook is provided.  Child care is available upon request for children up to the fifth grade. $20 is being asked to cover materials but financial assistance is available.  For more information, call Our Redeemer at (308) 532-4753, or email GriefShare@ourredeemer.life.
